"Art is the lifeblood of the soul"
Ian Smith - Journalist

Welcome to my website which I hope you enjoy. My love of design started in my childhood and has followed me through teacher training in Textiles and in Design and Technology. At the culmination of my teaching career it was an honour to be asked to write two units of work for teacher training for Southern Cross University. I would like to think my own work is an eclectic mix and like so many of us I have not nearly accomplished all that I would like. If you would like to know more please go to my Judge and Juror heading.

Bribie Island Revisited

Bribie Island is a montage where at least 7 techniques have been used. Some are; painting with thread, very fine free motion stitching, bobbin work on soluble film, fabric painting a little photographic manipulation and applique.

The Arts in Antiquity

One of my latest works which was entered in the Sydney Quilt Show on Glebe Island. Inspired from the ancient site of Ephesus (Turkey)as well as sites in Athens and Crete. Photos have been embellished with free motion stitching

Circle of Life - triptych

My inspiration, I think, speaks for itself. I carried the idea of this one around in my head for over a year and started it when living between two places. Although each piece has three layers I chose to mount the work over canvas.

This work sold in my "Two in Tango" exhibition. Now in private collection Armidale NSW
